Bird Watching
Years ago my girls and I began really paying attention to the birds in our yard. We have a “special” tree that has several bird feeders in it – we call it our “bird tree.” It’s an old gnarled dogwood and it just makes me so happy to see all of the birds flock to it year round. We have bird feeders in other trees to, but the “bird tree” is one we can easily see from our big picture window in the dining room.
One of my favorite things to see in the winter time is the birds dining on seeds and suet when the ground is covered in snow. I love knowing we’re helping to care for God’s sweet little creatures like that!
One of the first books we purchased when we began watching birds was a backyard bird guide. It helped us learn about the birds in our area as well as what they eat, their migration patterns. Any time we saw {or see} a new bird we grab our guide and figure out what kind of bird it is!
